process of the process (book)

screen caps of indesign, showing the general idea of the book i’m preparing. I’m planning on making the actual book by hand, so right now I’m just sorting and laying out images to print onto the loose pages.

woah hey content warning stuff got crazy

top photo for a covered thumbnail

updates since the last post:

Sunday, October 16:

i saw noticeable puffiness as compared to the first time I looked at the bird, but it’s hard to tell in the images. The eyes are fully rotted out, and an indent is on the head that was not previously there. It rained the night before so I’m not sure if that has something to do with it. Also, a friend was hitchhiking on the box itself, and seemed to be going to town on the cardboard.

^ Sunday, October 16 / Thursday, October 20 v

More damp-looking indents to the skull and spinal areas, and a large open wound on the shoulder/wing area where tendons/bones(?) are visible.

^ Thursday, October 20 / Sunday, October 23 v
not much visual change, hence lack of photos

^ Sunday, October 23 / Friday, October 28 v
left in same spot, but uncovered this time. there was a lot of rainy, wet conditions this week so i think the combination really aided what is seen in the results. full explosion of our bird friend, who was entirely in one piece up until this point. also, i counted at least three maggots feasting on the innards, only one of which i was able to photograph.

hope that wasn’t too gross

Word Wall

As I’ve been doing my self assigned reading, I’ve been trying to get into the habit of note taking. Starting small, for right now I’m recording any new vocabulary, as well as it’s dictionary definition.

I’m surprised at the amount of words I’ve already come across so far, especially since the last book I was reading is by the same author, and didn’t seem to have as nearly advanced vocab.

18 August 2022.

Seminarians will be invited to participate in this blog, shortly. Will use your montserrat.edu e-mail, but you can switch to another to log in.

When you do post something, please "tag" your post (in this case, it's called a "label") with your first name. (This post is tagged with everyone's name, so you can see how it works.) The reason for doing so is to make it easy to look at all of the posts by any one person, filtering out the rest.

As mentioned in separate e-mail, please send language should your thesis idea evolve or shift. Once finalized, I would enter that revised language in your respective designers/proposals pages (at upper right).

Thesis projects should have a working title.

I will add more thoughts here, as they occur to me.
